VMCompare is a free, open tool that helps developers, DevOps engineers, and cloud architects find the right virtual machine at the right price. We aggregate on-demand pricing from major cloud providers so you can compare them side-by-side in seconds.
How It Works
- Daily data collection — Our automated pipeline fetches the latest VM pricing from official cloud provider APIs and pricing pages every day at 06:00 UTC.
- Normalization — We normalize instance specs (vCPU, RAM, pricing) into a consistent format across providers, making apples-to-apples comparison possible.
- Static delivery — The entire site is pre-built and served as static files. All filtering, sorting, and comparison happens in your browser — no server-side processing, no latency.
Supported Providers
- Amazon Web Services (AWS EC2) — On-demand pricing across 7 regions, covering all instance families including general purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, and GPU instances.
- Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines — On-demand Linux VM pricing across 8 regions, including B, D, E, F, L, M, N (GPU) series and constrained-core variants.
- Google Cloud Compute Engine — Pricing for all machine types across 10 regions, including E2, N2, C2, C3, T2D, M1, A2, and more.
- DigitalOcean Droplets — Basic, General Purpose, CPU-Optimized, and Memory-Optimized droplet pricing.
Pricing Notes
- All prices are on-demand rates in USD
- Monthly estimates = hourly price × 730 hours
- Reserved instances, spot/preemptible instances, and committed-use discounts are not included and may offer significantly lower rates
- Disk storage and network transfer costs are not included unless bundled with the instance
